As a Parent… I am trying to compare some of my new “real-world” experience with that of the advice I give to parents as a pediatrician. One of the things I have noticed with many of my friends who are parents is how great their kids sleep. I often ask, “What is your secret?” The standard response … “Baby-Wise.” So I had no choice but to try this out for myself. My wife and I read the book cover to cover about a month before the birth of our son. Thinking it would be a complicated series of lessons we wanted to make sure we had ample time to read and understand each section. Shockingly this is not the case. What’s Riskier: A gun or a swimming pool?

I hear all-too-often families talking about how they never let little Johnny go over to little Timmy’s house because “they have a gun in the house.” Instead, they let little Johnny go over to little Billy’s house to swim.
