About

Our Mission

This website is a product of Global Medical Network (GMN) which is a private association, established by Dr. Reynolds in 2007. The mission of Global Medical Network is to promote responsible use of the U.S. medical system and its limited resources through a broad program of health literacy.  So much talk has been devoted to socialized medicine and free health care. This is a noble goal and one that I do not intend to argue. However, no medical system free or otherwise can sustain irresponsible use. There are many factors in place in our current health care system that prevent consumers from responsible use and encourage irresponsible practice by doctors.

There are solutions to these problems. One project with this aim in mind is Pediatrics 101. This is a basic set of educational information aimed at helping parents make informed and responsible decisions about the health care of their children. Informed Parents are able to enter into a shared decision making capacity with their child’s physician. Multiple studies have shown that this model of care results in far better outcomes for children, much higher patient/parent satisfaction, and much less use of unnecessary medical resources.
